The Health Education toolbox is a member benefit that will provide you with information related to health education and related technology.
Health Literacy
Health literacy is the degree to which individuals have the ability to find, understand, and use information and services to inform health-related decisions and actions for themselves and others.
The Importance of Health Education
Health education helps empower individuals to live healthier lives by improving their physical, mental, emotional and social health by increasing their knowledge and influencing their attitudes about caring for their well-being and the well-being of others.
Learning Standards
There are currently three New York State health education learning standards that were approved by the Board of Regents.

Physical Educators Toolbox
The Physical Education toolbox is a member benefit that will provide you with information related to physical education, APE, aquatics, coaching, exercise science, technology, recreation and dance.
Physical Literacy
Physical literacy is the motivation, confidence, physical competence, knowledge, and understanding to value and take responsibility for engagement in physical activities for life.
Learning Standards (2020)
The NYS Board of Regents adopted the revised Physical Education Learning Standards in 2020. These standards are the framework for the development of knowledge, skills, and social emotional learning that enables students to transition to being healthy, physically literate adults.
CAGD2
The second edition of the Curriculum and Assessment Guidance Document was written to provide developmentally appropriate content and sample assessments in PE that will allow students to acquire the skills, knowledge, confidence, and motivation through participation in quality K -12 PE programs.
