JAY B. NASH OUTSTANDING MAJOR AWARD

The Jay B. Nash Outstanding Major Award

is given to two undergraduate students for outstanding performance relevant to their preparation for the profession in the areas of health education, physical education, exercise science, recreation, or dance education. The award will provide a $1,000 scholarship for successful completion of graduate-level coursework, two years complimentary NYS AHPERD membership and conference registration fees following their commencement, three tickets to the Jay B. Nash Awards dinner (the recipient and up to two parents/guardians), two-day meal stipend and mileage reimbursement. These recipients will be encouraged to join SHAPE America and represent NYS AHPERD as our Outstanding Future Professionals and participate in future professional activities.

Applicants for the Jay B. Nash Outstanding Major Award must first be selected as their college / university Departmental Major of the Year.
