In December 2022, our NYS AHPERD Executive Director, Colleen Corsi, announced her retirement after 25 years at the helm; our organization has come so far under her leadership and she will be greatly missed.

The NYS AHPERD Board of Directors is diligently working on the search and hiring process for a new Executive Director that would begin work on January 1, 2024.  Here's where they are:

• Friday, January 6, 2023, the Board of Directors met to develop norms and begin the process.
• Tuesday, January 10, 2023, the central office sent out a membership survey to all current members requesting feedback about the characteristics they expect the next director possess.
• Thursday, January 26, 2023, a Stakeholder Nominal Group Process meeting was held at the central office to discuss survey results and gather input.  This group was made up of a selection of past presidents, executive council section presidents and zone presidents, a council of administrators section representative, a future profesionals section representative, a higher education representative, a central office staff member, and members-at-large.
